CVSWMD provides leadership, education, and services for residents and businesses in reducing and managing their solid waste in order to protect public health and the environment to the greatest extent feasible.

Zero Waste
In 2003, CVSWMD became the largest group of municipalities in the U.S. to adopt a Zero Waste Implementation Plan. While achieving a zero waste district may seem ambitious, we believe that by setting goals high, we can and will find ways to reach them. It's in the journey to zero waste that efficiencies are created, business is generated, jobs are created, and communities are bound together toward a common outcome. In recent years, we have watched with satisfaction as more and more solid waste entities finally get on board with Zero Waste initiatives and goals.
