Lithium Battery Safety Tips

Most embedded batteries are Lithium.
  • Never put batteries or the items they are embedded in into the trash or recycle bin.
  • Cover exposed nodes or wires with clear packing tape to prevent contact with batteries or metal.
  • Never puncture or apply pressure
  • If damaged or swollen, bury in non-flammable material (sand or clay kitty litter) in a waterproof container and store outside away from buildings until you can bring to the Eco Depot (fees apply).
