and find local outlets. 

Hazardous Waste

Learn to identify Hazardous Waste & safely dispose of it. 
​If your business is a VSQG, we can accept your haz-waste.

Find a Hauler or a Transfer Station

Haulers must take recycling and food scraps from the businesses that they serve.

Maximize Diversion & Minimize Contamination

  • ​Place & pair trash, recycling and food scrap containers in for easy access & reduced contamination
  • Train employees & the public about what belongs in recycling or food waste bins.
  • Printable posters:
    • Graphic Bin Signage - secure on or above bins for easy identification
    • Act 148 Summary to inform employees why they must follow the protocols.
Food Specifics
  • Hire a hauler or find a drop-off site, like a transfer station, food scrap outlet or farm
    • ​ if relevant, follow swine feed laws
  • Donate unserved food to local organizations

Single-Use Products Ban

Act 69 limits or bans the distribution of single use products at point of sale: plastic shopping bags, plastic straws, plastic stirrers and "Styrofoam" food or beverage containers.
