​Repair Fairs are based on the Repair Cafe' model, invented by Martine Postma. They are free community events for repairing things together. When participants arrive, there are tools, materials, and volunteer fixers with a variety of repair skills who may also teach how to repair items.

Planning Considerations:

  • Available resources for donations of tools, food, etc.
  • Appropriate event space
  • Event date
  • Identifying and recruiting fixers and other volunteers
  • Liability and insurance coverage for the event
  • Marketing and timelines
  • Potential community partners​
