What is a transfer station?
Transfer stations are not landfills. They are solid waste drop-off and collection points that accept trash, recycling, leaf and yard waste and other materials for disposal. On July 1, 2017 all Vermont transfer stations must offer food scrap collection.
Some transfer stations take the following materials, while others do not. Call ahead or check the website to find out if a transfer station accepts something and what it costs to drop it off.
