Additional Recyclables Collection Center Closed Until Further Notice

CVSWMD's Additional Recyclables Collection Center (ARCC) is closed until further notice due to severe flooding.
Please check our website for updates regarding re-opening of services and facilities.

Please note: We will need to discontinue the collection of several waste items when the ARCC reopens. Please visit our Discontinued ARCC Item Disposal Guide for more information on what to do with these items.

While the ARCC is closed, please see below for a list of waste disposal resources currently open and available to CVSWMD residents. We will update this list as businesses continue to reopen.

Hours: Mon/Wed/Fri -10:30 am - 5:30 pm or 3rd Saturdays - 9:00 am - 1:00 pm​
Closed for Lunch: Mon/Wed/Fri 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

If you have large quantities (full carload or greater) of the above items, call ahead to 802-476-1900 for fee information and to schedule a drop-off appointment. Businesses, schools, and libraries must make an appointment.​​

Read Before Visiting

  • Face masks recommended
  • We accept cash or check only – no credit or debit cards.
  • Please sort and group like items together before arrival.
  • Customers must unload and place materials onto carts or carry items inside. Please bring someone to help if you are unable to unload items by yourself.
  • Staff are not able to assist with unloading.
  • Once inside, staff will receive and sort all items.
  • All customers pay at register inside, including those with food scraps only.

Fees: (cash or check only)

No Fees:

  • CFC units (air conditioners, small dorm-style/under counter refrigerators, dehumidifiers and water coolers), $20 each
  • Damaged & Swollen Lithium-Ion Battery, $3
  • Fire extinguishers, $3.50 each
  • Floor model copier, $75
  • Fluorescent tubes, 10 or more, $ .15/foot​​
  • Food scraps, $2 for less than 5 gallons, $3.50 per 5 gallons
  • ​Mercury devices, $3.50
  • Microwaves, small - $5 / large - $10
  • Non‐Covered Electronics (plug-in or battery powered devices that are not TVs, computers, printers):
    • Small, 1‐3 lbs - $1.00 each 
    • Med, 3‐10 lbs - $3.00 each 
    • Large, 10‐30 lbs - $5.00 each 
    • X-Large, 30‐50 lbs - $10.00 each 
  • Propane & helium tanks, 1 lb - $1, 20-30 lbs $3
  • ​Stereo speakers, $5 each for less than 24", $10 each for more than 24" - no wooden speakers
  • Smoke detector, $5
  • Tires
    • Bicycle, $1.25 each
    • Residential, $8 each or $9.25 on rim
  • Vacuums (upright), $5.00 each​
All other items - any combination of all other accepted items are charged by volume (scroll down to see brochure).
  •      Up to 1 gallon - $1.50
  •      Per 5 gallon - $2
  •      Up to 1/2 cubic yard - $8
  •      Per cubic yard - $16
The following items are covered under Vermont's Extended Producer Responsibility Programs: 
  • Household Batteries (up to 11 lbs., up to 300Wh).
  • TV’s, computers, and computer peripherals such as monitors, desktop printers and scanners. Fees may apply to some non-residential customers with more than seven devices. Please call for more information.
  • ​Household paint, stain, and tile sealer (no dry or empty cans; no automotive paint or hazardous substances; no spray paint).
  • Fluorescent bulbs and tubes: 10 or fewer bulbs and unlimited CFLs are free; fee of $0.15/foot applies to more than 10 non-CFL tubes.
  • Mercury containing thermostats
