  • Please organize items safely
  • Staff receive and process all items.
  • Customers at front of table and pay at register inside.
Businesses, schools, and libraries must make an appointment.​​

Free Items

  • Ballasts:
    • ​PCB- $4/ea
    • Non-PCB- $2/5-gallon
  • Batteries: automotive/lead acid (more than 11 lbs.), $2 each
  • Batteries: Lithium- (300-799 watt hours), $25 - $100 based on size
  • Batteries: Lithium- damaged/swollen (under 300 watt hours) $4/ea
  • CFC units and tanks, $20 each
  • Electronics: (those not listed as free) plug-in or battery powered
    • Small, 1‐3 lbs - $1.00 each 
    • Med, 3‐10 lbs - $3.00 each 
    • Large, 10‐30 lbs - $5.00 each 
    • X-Large, 30‐50 lbs - $10.00 each 
  • Fire extinguishers, $3.50 each
  • Fluorescent tube bulbs, 11th or more, $ .15/foot​​
  • Food scraps/Cooking oil, $2/up to 5-gals, $3.50/5-gals
  • ​Mercury-containing devices, $4 each
  • Propane tanks, 1 lb - $1, 20-30 lbs $3​
  • Smoke detectors-
    • photoelectric- $1/ea
    • ionizing/radioactive- up to 1 microcurie, $10/ea
    • ionizing/radioactive- over 1 microcurie $30/ea
  • Vacuums (full-sized), $5 each​
These items are paid for by Vermont's Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Programs: 
  • Batteries- household  (up to 11 lbs., up to 300 watt-hours).
  • Computers and peripherals (monitors, desktop printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, mics/speakers/cameras, modems/routers) Fees apply to businesses with more than 10 employees with more than 7 devices at a time.
  • Fluorescent bulbs: all compact bulbs and up to 10 tubes daily. 11 and hire are charged $0.15/foot.
  • ​Paint- household
  • Mercury thermostats
  • TV's

Charged by Volume

Clothing, shoes, and paper for shredding: any combination of these are charged by volume.
  • ​     Per 5 gallon - $2
  •      Up to 1/2 cubic yard - $8
  •      Per cubic yard - $16​
