Trash in Central Vermont

Unfortunately, many items do not have diversion methods or markets. You have options for how to manage disposal of these landfill-bound materials.

Find a Local Transfer Station

Transfer stations are solid waste drop-off locations that accept trash, recycling, leaf and yard waste and food scraps as well as other materials.

These items are banned from the landfill and are not trash. They must be diverted. See Recycling to learn where to send them.
