Clean Wood, Leaves and Yard Waste are banned from the landfill per Vermont's Universal Recycling Law.   

What Is Clean Wood?

  • Natural wood (trees, trunks and branches) larger than 1 inch in diameter
  • Stumps and roots
  • Lumber (never painted, stained, or treated)
  • Clean Christmas trees
  • No metal (staples & nails okay ON PALLETS ONLY)
  • No plastic or other contamination.
